Organic Light‐Emitting Transistors in a Smart‐Integrated System for Plasmonic‐Based Sensing

The smart integration of multiple devices in a single functional unit is boosting the advent compact optical sensors for on-site analysis. Nevertheless, development miniaturized and cost-effective plasmonic hampered by strict angular constraints detection scheme, which are fulfilled through bulky components. Here, an ultracompact system plasmonic-sensing demonstrated organic light-emitting transistor (OLET), photodiode (OPD), nanostructured grating (NPG). potential OLETs, as planar multielectrode with inherent micrometer-wide emission areas, offers pioneer incorporation OPD onto source electrode to obtain monolithic photonic module endowed light-detection characteristics at unprecedented lateral proximity them. This approach enables exploitation angle-dependent sensing NPG based on low-cost components, reflective enabled elegant fabrication encapsulation glass module. most effective layout unraveled advanced simulation tool, allows obtaining optics-less able perform quantitative up 10−2 RIU sensor size low 0.1 cm3.
